Description:
Initially the clients were seeking to extend a 2 bed home within a 400 year old barn structure near the centre of Uppingham. They were looking to expand the existing structure with a modern extension to accommodate 2 additional bedrooms and kitchen/dining area.
Planning constraints led to a rethink of the building as it was then confirmed that it was in a conservation area. The final design was to make the extension in keeping with the existing building and surrounding areas.
A new entrance and sun room structure were also added to the design to gain more space lost by reducing the two storey element.
